William C. Schroeder
William Schroeder joined MPL Law in 2024 and brings an impressive and wide-ranging academic and professional history to his role at our firm. William received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and his law degree from Penn State Law with a concentration in Banking and Financial Regulation, Commercial Law, Corporate Law and Practice, and Antitrust Law.

Legal Extern:
- William served as a legal extern at a publically traded bank, where he reviewed and crafted vendor and non-disclosure agreements and assisted with various aspects of corporate governance, such as incumbency paperwork and updating principal shareholder questionnaires. He also researched, reviewed and provided synopses for relative court rulings and reviewed and gathered documents for the proxy season. William’s function as a legal extern also involved extensive memo preparation. Specific areas included service of process, interest on equity, § 229.404-related transactions regarding disclosures by publicly traded companies and registered agent research. Additionally, he helped with corporate governance and SEC filings.
Research Assistant:
- William also worked as a research assistant for the Center for the Study of Mergers and Acquisitions at Penn State Law. His research purview encompassed mergers and acquisitions, domestic and international tax policy and private equity trends. He also delved into various court decisions, statutes and regulations and drafted memoranda outlining and analyzing the findings.
Compliance Intern:
- As a compliance associate intern with a publically traded bank, William spearheaded an initiative to develop a mergers and acquisitions checklist to serve as a guide during an acquisition. He also stress-tested the bank’s internal systems to ensure the reliability of the compliance program. Moreover, William gained invaluable risk management experience by facilitating risk assessments across the organization and analyzing the relative risk of departmental operations. William also created regulation build-outs to analyze company compliance while implementing applicable regulations. He also evaluated the Reg O report to ensure the bank’s compliance with Federal Reserve regulations regarding credit limitations to insiders.
Customer Service Coordinator:
- While serving as a customer service coordinator for a national bank in New York, William earned multiple awards for his exemplary service. He was a 2020 WOW Award recipient, which is reserved for the bank’s top employees. In the same year, he led the New York City region in digital product delivery systems. Additionally, he earned the Angel Award for fraud detection and was recognized as a sales revenue leader.

- William received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, where he attained dean’s list status in multiple semesters and a certificate in Islamic Studies.
- He earned his law degree from Penn State Law with a concentration in Banking and Financial Regulation, Commercial Law, Corporate Law and Practice and Antitrust Law.
- While attending law school, William co-authored Corporate Valuation in M&A, Appendix 14 with a faculty professor. He also served as treasurer for the Mid-Atlantic Black Law Students Association and worked as a volunteer income tax assistant.

As someone who believes in helping those in need and giving back to the community, William volunteered for Lifting Hands International, a Utah-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to refugees around the world. He assisted with the relocation and settlement of Yazidi refugees in Greece, distributed food and clothing and engaged in community-building exercises.
